MA Wood (33)

Difficult choice for the management here, who to leave out.
It looks like either Thorp/ Rushworth to miss out on this one. They can't leave Woody out after saturday, and I don't see them playing without a spinner, so seems the squad has a seamer too many.
Do they go for experience or recent form? Rushworth has the better figures over the last 5 CC games but Thorp has the experience, a tough choice.
Personally, I'd leave Thorp out just for the reason that Rushworth has been opening the bowling with Onions and the partnership seems to work really well together, Rushworth bowled tight from one end during the 1st innings v Notts which gave Onions the chance to have a good blast without worrying about his run rate, ( which was over 5.5 an over at one point) and Rushworth got the vital breakthrough during the second innings that started the rot.

Whoever is in the final eleven, here's hoping they all chip in and get us the win that will virtually guarantee us safety.

Have a feeling Smith will miss out.

Stoneman
Jennings
Stokes
Mustard
Benks
Colly
Borthwick
Wood
Thorp
Onions
Rushworth

I would say Thorpy is the one who will miss out, Bunny, Wood, Rushy, Stokes and Borthwick could well be our attack for a good few years so I think they will go with it.

Thorpe or Wood for me. With Stokes back in the line up we don't need to play four seamers and hopefully the extra batsman will get runs

It's a must win if we are gonna get this title

My aim is top four, or at least finish above Middlesex. I wouldn't mind seeing bonus points all around tomorrow to see Worc overtake Lancs.

too light on the runs and heavy on the wicket takers for me, smith in for thorp. you just cant drop rushy with the form he is in.

personally i hope mustard goes back down to 7, if he is going to move up then put him three above jennings but i would keep him back down at 7.

Rocky, Smith, Jennings, Stokes, Benks, Collingwood, Mustard, Borthwick, Wood, Onions, Rushworth.

tempting to think jennings opening and smith at 3 but perhaps not till next year, give jennings a bit more time to settle into cc life. or perhaps move him up and drop smith to accomodate myburgh?

Given Smiths form of late I'd like to see this.

I'd leave Thorp out. Rushy's had a good season and Wood looks quite a good bowler from what I've seen so far.

It should definitely be one of Thorp/Rushy to miss out, I don't know who personally! Stokes is the 4th seamer though and we'd be too light on batsmen of Smith is left out.

Oh and Wood looked f***ing unplayable at Notts when I saw the highlights of Day 4. Unreal swing and pace from a ball that was 80 overs old!

Just avoid defeat (bearing in mind Lancs play Surrey last game of the season).

In theory but theres always a winner at the Riverside if the weather holds up. We just have to make sure its us!

aye i cant see any draws for us this year with our brittle batting, paired with our great bowling. as you say, aside from weather forced ones

we still need to play lancs at liverpool, never confident on an outground, especially one lancs are very used to and whilst we are in probably the worst batting form we've been in since we formed.

we still need to be picking points up, if surrey hadnt won we could relax a bit more but...

rubbish.

Worcester at home is one you need to win, very winnable and we should win

I think we will win, I'm going expecting to win BUT if the rain cancels the game out, I won't be that dissapointed.

Wood's dropped for thorp:shock:

Durham: Smith, Stoneman, Jennings, Stokes, Benkenstein, Collingwood, Mustard, Borthwick, Thorp, Onions, Rushworth

Durham win toss and elect to field

How harsh is that? Problem with Thorp is his strength is as a good new ball bowler in the right conditions but cant get the new ball ahead of Onions and Rushworth.
