They were saying during the interval of the Notts/Surrey game on Sky that Swann might be out with an injured elbow.

Taylor for Ravi, Finn for Bresnan, but if it's a total green-top with miserable weather forecast I'd play Onions.

I'd actually be tempted to play four seamers and no spinner if he is.

what would be the alternative, panesar? who else is in england reckoning as a spinner? james tredwell? cant think of anyone else, except of course borthwick :-D

think this is gonna be a huge mistake, who is gonna bowl the hard overs, trott? kp? no spinner is a joke, strauss has lost the plot, shit or bust i reckon

Its certainly a brave choice not sure yet if its the right one. The problem it leaves is there's nobody to change the bowling around unless you count kp to bowl a couple of overs.

Finn is going to cost England a wicket from a run out by kicking the stumps sooner or later. Twice he's kicked them in his first over.

was gonna say surely it is a crucial part of his technique - if he cant bowl without knocking the bails off then he cant bowl.

sort it out then get picked for england if you can still bowl as well without kicknig the stumps ower

You were saying....

Ridiculous decision for the umpire mind. Although how difficult is it for him in nets to run up 6 inches to the left of what he currently doing?

He fixed his falling over all the time, and then started this. You shouldn't be at this stage of his career with a huge technical flaw in your bowling.

maybe but it is still a big flaw in finn's technique IMO.

england should be 'doing a plunkett' on him

No argument for me, but the call is wrong. Decent ump would have had this under control, make it clear - you kick the stumps it's a dead ball. To wait until it costs him a wicket is just pathetic.

problem is now that he cant get close to the stumps, and his next three balls were all way down leg, does that make him less effective to left handers? which means we are a bowler down in this test and no spinner
