Aye, he said it was last night. He's been proved as a bullshitter quite a bit, he said n'zogbia was done

Echo said fletcher would be done in 48 hours, 5 hours later and he tweets 'done in 72 hours' Longhorn is the only one now with any sort of record who still gets info.

You must be taking the piss?

A step up from Richardson.

Any other decent LB's in Europe that would come here?

I reckon we will sign one of the two PSG defenders we have been linked with for the last few months in the French press, Siake Tiene and Sylvain Armand. Armand was apparently even at the AoL a couple of months ago, I think he's out of contract now.

Looking more likely of the two..

Made over a million playing football yet goes to Northumbria Uni and makes up transfers in his own fantasy land :lol::lol::lol:

Biggest joker on here bar none.

As long as we sign a specialist left back ie not a midfielder or centre half we're shoehorning in there like we have for what seems like a decade.

Pretty sure they don't really exist these days. There is barely one in the premier league who isn't a converted something or other.

from @WHUFC_News West Ham News twitter
Martin Olsson to Sunderland according to @Johno909, which would pave the way for Richardson and McCartney to West Ham #safc #whufc

from @Johno909 johno twitter
Sunderland turn their attentions to Martin olsson from Blackburn

He'd be a step down from Richardson imo

@RumourMongers
Over 90% of rumours are just utter drivel and should not be believed.

Probably right.
I could live without an out and out 'orthodox' left (and right) back.
If we play three central defenders and use a fluid 3-5-1-1 come 5-3-1-1 system.
With more like two wing backs/attack-minded defenders, than old-fashioned Full Backs (often 'planks').

Oh, the irony.

Just checked maybe not

.

Would cause more problems than owt else. It's ok top sides with gallons of technical ability playing a fluid midfield and players covering a back three, but it simply wont work over here and we haven't got the centre halves or wing backs to pull it off even if it was going to. The Barcelona model hardly fits our players does it? The idea behind having five in mifield is also to overcrowd midfield and so win that area keeping possesio, but if two of them are wingbacks and have massess of ground to cover it's not really going to happen.

I wish people would give up mentioning 3 at the back, as it's largely shite and a system like that without the right mentality and players turns quickly into a defensive shambles.

if you had done so, then you'd probably have kept your mouth shut about it on here because you'd realise that nobody would believe you and you'd look a complete knacker.

It was a flavour of the season formation a few years back that people like Roy Evans played so that they'd look intelligent and in the know. it has rarely worked successfully. And he had a really good liverpool team that ultimately failed to get anywhere near winning the title.

O'Neill used to use it regularly, but it got seriously found out. In the last year or so I think Barcelona have used similar on occasion and another top side who I can't recall and because they have the players to more or less play anything and they overcrowd midfield in the way Spain do there's a few on here who repeatedly stake a claim for it claiming that it's the way forward and that any space behind the wingbacks will be covered by one or two of our dedicated defensive midfielders. In reality it would likely be one big f***ing shambles as we firstly dont understand it, nor do we have the kind of quality needed to keep posession and create openings using that kind of system anyway.

Germany did it well in Euro 96 but people put too much emphasis on formations and ultimately if you don't have the players for it then leaving a massive gap on either flank is going to make you beatable.

Exactly. We also last season got two reasonably productive wide players and I guess in this system people would want them as wing backs. Bizarre.
