Signed for the T20 season.

Have a feeling we could have attracted a decent overseas player for the whole season with the money we've spent on 2 overseas for the T20.

Yeh there is no doubt, I would rather see us win the County Championship than the T20 but unfortunately that isn't where the money is!

He bowls to the left, he bowls to the right, that mitchell johnson, his bowling is shite!

Should be a class signing though, think it's about time we won the t20 and showed our full potential. Cash bonus would help with the ground improvements as well.

We probably could of afforded an overseas for the season, but financially it makes more sense for Durham to bring in two lads for the 20/20 and try and win that.

All about ££££££££ - sadly it's going like football.

This was one of the funniest things I've ever seen/heard at a Test match. Quality sledging by the Barmy Army!

Im sure he'll get plenty more of the same when he plays over here. Lets hope he's put it behind him and can do the biz for DCCC.

Good signing for the T20's.

Personally think we have enough in the CC to win it without overseas players. If Harmy can stay fit and Onions can get going we will go close.

Harmison is nowhere near the bowler he was. Now bowling off a shortened runup. I'll be surprised if he plays in half the CC games.

Yes it is. County championship prize money is a lot more than the T20. ECB made some big adjustments a few years back to stress that the 4 day set up is still the main competition.

£550k for the winners if I recall as opposed to £200k for the T20.

What about gate receipts and TV money? I expect it's far easier to get Sky along and bums on seats if you've got a couple of big names in the T20 than having a good run in the Championship (not saying that's right but it's a fact).

Also the money from the champions league and the chance of guest appearances such as the WI 20/20 wipes the floor with the championship money

I was assuming we'd still flop as per usual ;-)

Looking forward to a game at Lancashire lasting longer than the 2nd over of Durham's innings for a change.

Good signing on paper, although the general view amongst members is that it'll be a shit or bust signing. He'll either be utter class or utter crap. It'll be interesting too see if he is better with the bat than the ball.

I'm never truly convinced about Durham in the T20 competition. I'm always reminded of Scotland who could never get out of the group stages at the world cup no matter how hard they tried. It just never happened for them.

Durham's best chance this year is definitely the CC, then the Pro 40 and lastly the T20 competition.

I think he'll be exactly that and as you say worry that his batting might be better than his bowling (although that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing). Think Durham should have gone for a spinner personally, seems to be the area they've always lacked.

mustard, gibbs, stokes, benks, colly, johnson, breese, borthwick, claydon, onions + 1 more specialist batter

This.

Although a part of me would like to see us lift the T-20 title to complete the collection.
