He's registered to play for Sunderland, but obviously only 1 of Stokes/Rushworth will be able to play, which it is depends on availability.I've heard he is playing for Sunderland in their 1st 4 league games of the season.

Given his batting ability, surely you'd be better off with Stokes if they're both available? Mind, I know nothing about Sunderland CC so they could have plenty of good batters.
I genuinely don't think he has the technique for test match cricket
Flintoff started in the Test team batting at number 8 and 1 st change bowler.
I suspect Stokes may be a better bat than Freddie was at this stage , but his bowling is unreliable. If his bowling shows some improvement the selectors may take a punt.
He is probably a year or two away from what is still a very good Test side.
The lad has bundles of talent and on his day is utterly lethal. Thoroughly decent lad as well. Spoke to him briefly last night after the Yorkshire game and his finger looks to be a lot better albeit still with a bandage on.
As ever though success for one of our players domestically is a double edged sword as we wont see him for most of the season.
Last year his absence and Onions through England call ups (even though Onions never played in one or two he was called up for) undoubtedly contributed to us losing the CC. The Hampshire defeat didnt help either. Terrible day that was.
