Ha'way Dangermows, get a chorus of "There's a circus in the town" going at TB. :-)

Don't want to get carried away but this team looks imperious, properly great, at times. Aggressive and powerful in the ascendancy, full of fight and heart when the chips are down, and more or less excellent with bat and ball..

1) No reliance on 1 or 2 players to get runs. Any of the top two thirds of the order are capable of a century. When some are off-form, others step up.

2) Same with the bowlers. Half a dozen capable of destroying an innings on their day, most of whom can bat a bit as well.

3) A quality keeper/batsman.

4) Clever and conservative captaincy, from a bloke who knows his players.

5) Strong subs bench

6) The right balance of youth and experience, and great team spirit

7) Declining opposition. The Aussies, India and (long ago) Windies had their perfect storms like we're having now.

Can't wait for the next Ashes me. We'll be peaking round about then.

Jimmy Anderson gets out the greatest batsmen of the modern era for a 7th time. You just can't argue with stats like that.

I looked up just as the ball hit the pad and thought it would have been Harbhajan on strike. It was a terrible leave.
