As far as any comparison with Jimmy are concerned it is difficult as Jimmy is currently at the peak of his powers. At the same age, Jimmy was far more inconsistent and in and out of the Test side.
Broad is simply a better cricketer than Jimmy but the new Botham ? Give ower.

Broad will have a great career as a test cricketer but I dont agree with much of that post tbh. Jimmy was far more inconsistent as a bowler? Broad averages 35 was close to 36 before this test and at no stage of Anderson's career has his average climbed higher than that. Jimmy was inconsistent, had back problems and people messing with his action but at this stage of his career Broad has equally been inconsistent. Neither of them should be hammered for that as test cricket is a learning process.
Broad 'simply a better cricketer' - Broad has two strings to his bow but ultimately hes a bowler and he has a long way to go to be a better one than Anderson. I reckon Broad will end up with more wickets and less runs than you suggest but time will tell.
