Chris Evans is a likeable and clever broadcaster I am sure it will be a hit although some of the stick in the mud Clarkson fans won't like it.

Don't know if I will be watching next week. The issue isn't it is shit. Matt and Chris when talking in the studio just don't come across as natural. They are ok when filming outside. But in the studio their tone is OTT. So very excitable. That is what made Hammond, May and Clarkson good. They spoke normally and naturally.

It just needs time. Give it time for everyone to gel. Remember, we have not seen all the presenters. You wouldn't brand a newborn baby as stupid because it can't add up or spell. You give it time to grow and develop.

Did you ever see the first episode of the last incarnation of Top Gear? It was rubbish. It was just as rubbish as this. Nobody knew what they were doing. James May wasn’t even in it. It took a full year for the last Top Gear to become Top Gear. So judging this new version on 43 minutes of footage seems colossally unfair. It’ll find its footing in time.

Still, this episode is still rubbish.
