3x/ week, 45 minute sessions would be totally adequate.
Intensity is king.
Thats exactly what I do. Start off with 10 minutes of squats and sit ups. Then 45 minutes session. Absolutely no point going for an hour plus. Just clogging up the gym.
Well that really depends on the persons goals. We are routinely in there for 3 hours. While I appreciate the OP won't have the same goals, longer than an hour isn't necessarily pointless.
Takes me a good 30 mins each to do squats and deadlifts so my legs and back days are around 1 hr 20.Thats exactly what I do. Start off with 10 minutes of squats and sit ups. Then 45 minutes session. Absolutely no point going for an hour plus. Just clogging up the gym.

So it's OK not having a 'recovery' day after strength training? I thought that muscle is 'repaired' in the aftermath of a session.
