You've obviously never moved abroad and tried to learn the lingo. It takes proper balls to do what he's doing after a year.

Absolutely this. Spanish is an easy enough language to pick up and to understand, but a whole different ball game actually having a conversation and picking up what was said, translating it and replying in the language is very difficult
