Big club bias

Look at the game we actually won, Wales. It was like a Premier League game - high energy, end to end, direct, the way England should play. Then look at all the other matches we didn't win, typical boring England Internationals - slow , lacking any urgency, a more patient build up.

We should play like Leicester - two up front with two wingers, two hard working midfielders and a take-no-shit defence.

It's f***ing obvious.

Hodgson had already made his mind up on who was going long before the tournament came around, he didn't care about form or commitment, and that's why England are gash

Plus the fact he didn't want to drop his regulars like Hart even though he makes mistakes after mistake...
I'm not defending Hodgson here...

But surely this contradicts the other argument that he doesn't know his best team?

People complain that he doesn't know his best team or have a settled formation but then want to chop and change whenever anybody hits a run of form for their club. You can't have both, if you're trying to build a team over two years you can't rip it all up just because a donkey like Carroll who has been permanently injured for years scores a couple at the end of the season.

Granted he did neither, but that's not the point. People harp on about copying Germany but they don't necessarily pick players on club form

Mark Noble wouldn't have made any difference whatsoever

This had nothing to do with the players he's picked. We were playing f***ing Iceland and couldn't cope. Why couldn't we cope? Because we left Townsend and Drinkwater at home? Nonsense. We didn't cope because we sent 11 players out with the idea that we were better so we just had to go out and play. Not a single game plan for the 90 minutes. Set pieces were a case of mark the nearest man Sunday League style. Midfield were non-existent because we didn't feel we needed a midfield tonight. Why would we? It's only f***ing Iceland. When it became apparent we needed a midfield, we brought Wilshere on to take the fight to Iceland. Perfect Roy. Just what we needed!!! More tippy-tappy shite played in front of their defence which would end with a neat little knock into the channels for Sturridge/Vardy/Rashford/Rose/Walker (delete where applicable). Just a repeat of the first half with a slightly less fit midfielder playing 10 yards higher up the field. Game plan? Don't be silly!! It's only Iceland.

Roy said before the tournament that systems win you nowt, players win games. Well Roy - you've selected a team that is lightyears ahead of anything Iceland could dream of playing and we lost because we didn't have a f***ing clue from minute 1 to minute 90. Why would we need a game plan? It's only Iceland!

:evil::evil:

So Sunderland never have bad results?
Your missing the point. Sunderland work under finacial restrictions to aquire players and managers coaching staff ect. England are supposedly fielding the Eleven best Englishmen in the country with a none too cheap manager and coaching team.
Sunderland would have shown a lot more heart under Sam playing against Iceland. A stronger word for pathetic needs to be invented because it's just not descriptive enough for England!
