They will appeal. They will request that the punishment is suspended for the duration of the appeal procedure. They will sign everyone under the sun in the Summer and mitigate the damage caused if they then lose the appeal and are transfer banned. Nantes did something similar last Summer.

Interesting quandary for Barca though. If, being cynical, they believe they will be found guilty then by appealing they will have to go on a spending spree to see them through a future fourteen month period of no more incoming players. However, the potential problem with that policy will surely put them in breach of the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules. Depending on how seriously those rules will be implemented (cynically Barca will probably have already decided to use the courts to avoid any sanctions here too!), then the result could be they will be barred from competing in Europe in 2014 - 2015 season ......

Just a thought, but is going to be a spaces worth watching out for ......

You may have a point but Barca generate a hell of a lot of money and can probably afford to spend 200 million plus without breaking FFP.

They will spend an absolute fortune this summer mind. Its needed and with the potential of no players arriving for 18 months after that I think they will hit the transfer market hard. Will be interesting
