Dom is a real hero of mine. I've even bought the 'Reps for Jesus' vest he's often wearing.

Currently thinking about getting another item of clothing from his website.

One that says "Bill Plates: CEO of Macrohard" and has a drawing of Bill Gates in the hole squatting 7 plates or something like that

So all in all, the result of this thread is you can say for instance have 150g of protein in one meal and its fine

Apologies for resurrecting this thread but I thought it would be preferable to creating a new one.

I worked out today that I'll be consuming more protein than usual but I wondered if there's any harm in over-consuming? I'm going to be lifting weights at dinner and I'll be consuming a total of about 160g rather than the target of 140g.

The author of this article (Mercola) reckons that too much protein can stress the kidneys and any excess will be stored as fat?

Eating more protein than your body needs can interfere with your health and fitness goals in a number of ways, including weight gain, extra body fat, stress on your kidneys,1 dehydration, and leaching of important bone minerals.

an extra 20grams.......fuck sake mate you are risking your health there like ;)

but seriously don't worry about it, i eat about 400grams of the stuff a day

and eating excess of any food type will lead to weight gain

surely only excess calories = extra body fat/weight gain regardless of their source. if you are worried about dehydration and kidneys make sure you are drinking plenty of water. the bone thing sounds far fetched.

160g of protein in a day is not going to cause you any issues man.
