its flat and fast im told. know a few that did it last year - im thinking about it myself or may go abroad as theres a one in france I really fancy around the same timeHas anyone ran Manchester marathon? Considering running this after not getting into London and wondered what the course is like? Is it a bit event etc?
As it will be my first marathon I think I will stay in the country.....flat sounds good, I will give the fast bit a miss as I will probably do a steady pace for my first marathon just so I know I can complete one!its flat and fast im told. know a few that did it last year - im thinking about it myself or may go abroad as theres a one in france I really fancy around the same time
so how much slower a pace would you hope to do that than a normal marathon? 30 seconds per mile?
Loads of regrouping on Fridays. Will you be there Friday? I was talking to a lad called Lee in my group (late 20's, his dad runs too) and he said not many turn up on a Friday. I'm hoping I won't be out with a load of Mo Farahs
Cheers.Loads of regrouping on Fridays.

Cool. So you don't need to be a member to get in the Cricket club these days?
What kind of rests do you do in between reps there mate? Getting bored of the pyramid track sessions nowHard track session tonight, 6x400, 6x300, 6x200. . hate the shorter stuff. Needs to be done though, cross country soon.
Racing on Sunday in Stanley, race is called the hellhole 10k
45secs between each effort, then 90secs between each set (ie. moving from 400s to 300s).What kind of rests do you do in between reps there mate? Getting bored of the pyramid track sessions now
ok, good luck!35 miles trail race with plenty of hills so i'd expect 11 min miling against my 9 min road marathon pace.
Anyone park running tomorrow? 10th anniversary of it's start - fantastic achievement
Yep, at the original one where it all started. They are getting the original 14 runners that did it 10 years ago back to do it as well!! Probably 1,500 doing it.Anyone park running tomorrow? 10th anniversary of it's start - fantastic achievement
Just over 6 mile with the strollers tonight. Enjoyed it again, right mixed pack of ability. We ran places I never knew existed and will run that way when I go out on my own.Loads of regrouping on Fridays.

Did you notice a first timer on Wednesday? A lad (I reckon 20's) tall and slim. He had a high vis Nike singlet with nowt underneath, tight cycling shorts and he had a sleeve tattoo.
I think he'll be the talk of the club mate. It was only his second time out tonight (same as me) and no one could keep up with him.Is he a nice boy mate??
