People still living with parents when they're over 20?

Feel so sorry for kids these days. Thought it was bad in the early `90`s but managed to buy a house in Durham on 2X my trainee salary. That same house now is so expensive that I couldn`t afford it on my 20 years + in the job and wife's wage + savings. Things have got totally ridiculous and unaffordable for most. As always I blame the banks for increasing lending multiples which pushed up prices to the very limit of those multiples now even those with good jobs struggled to get on the ladder.

Bought my first house for 36k was worth over 100k when me and thd ex split. Let her keep the kip and got half the equity in it so had a canny windfall. Bladdered the lot like

Last time I was home I heard they were giving money to kids in sixth form/ college. What's that all about then?

He gets 2 x £200 payments per academic year to cover the cost of any books, trips, stationery etc. You get a bit extra if your parents are on a low income but I'm not sure how much that is. You have to have good attendance and have all your work handed in to get the payments.

I had to move back in for a few month when I was 34!

I got wrong off my mam for coming home drunk!!

Needed somewhere to kip when i was back in the uk for 4 months, my mam asked every friday night 'what time will you be in and dont comd in drunk', my reply 'mam, i'm 28'

fair play mate, big change or still relying on your mam for stuff? Honest question cos my mate used to rent my spare room but went to his mams for his tea every night and she did his washing :-D
Na the thing is am not really welcome at home no more a chose to move out by the way but always arguing with me dad so a just fuxked off when a got a job and could afford to pay some rent and what not,.

Moved out when I was 22, loved the days of being able to go out on the lash every weekend whilst living with me Mam, but living there now would drive me mad.

Left at 18 to go to university but was back during holidays etc. till I was 22.

moved back in to my Mams house till I was 24 then moved out.

I'd still be there if my mother had her way

I was 25 when I moved out and it took having a bairn to actually go. Otherwise there wasnt any need, £100 per month board, plenty of spare cash and we always had the house to ourselves anyway.

This is me. Currently 23. Nee savings or out. Just got myself a good little job, building some money up and out on the piss every weekend and make plenty away matches. It's class.

Went away to uni, came back permanently at the end of that for a couple of years and have only moved out in the last month.

Not sure about up north, but it seems to be extremely common in London. Especially when they want £1200 - £1500 PCM for a 2 bed in an alright area.

Currently at Uni and probably spend 70/30 at Uni/Home. Just about to start my final year and already worrying about the prospect of not being able to find a job straight away (one that will be enough to live off that is) and therefore be forced into moving back home. The freedom is superb, no nagging and being asked "what do you want for tea tomorrow" despite not having had my tea on that day...
