New Music Releases Thread

Has anyone been to Rock Wertcher? I'm tempted to go purely for Radiohead and Arcade Fire

Not been to Rock Wertcher but saw Springsteen at the same place earlier this year. It was easy enough to get to. We drove to Leuven but it is not far from Brussels by train. Very well organised free buses to get to and from the site which is about 30 mins from Leuven. They also put on special trains at the end of the concert so although it did not finish until about 00:30, you could still get a train back to any big city in Belgium

The Howe Gelb album is straight into my top 5 of the year. Essentially, him singing, piano, occasional female vocals for duets and a whole load of atmosphere. (of the non-Russ Abbott type)

Really? I listened to first few and thought was bland as owt. But you have good taste so will give it another shot

I might be savagely wrong, of course. It just speaks to me about pianos, whisky, Jessica Rabbit and stolen oranges... TBH, if you don't like the first few, nothing changes. Did I tell you that I once saw Giant Sand looking very non-rock and roll at a motorway service station?

What was the general feeling on Bowie's album in here? I've just been listening to it again most of today after not bothering with it since the first few weeks of it's release, still not particularly sure I like it too much. Feels like I really should though.

Masterpiece IMO

BBC Sound of 2017 longlist came out last night

AJ Tracey
Anderson .Paak
Cabbage
Dave
Declan McKenna
Jorja Smith
Maggie Rogers
Nadia Rose
Rag'n'Bone Man
Ray BLK
RAYE
Stefflon Don
The Amazons
The Japanese House
Tom Grennan

Only heard of five, Anderson .Paak has been around for a few years though so not sure why he's on there. One of his albums this year would be in my top ten and the other would be in top twenty.

I didn't know he'd released 2 this year?
