At least with Yedlin you feel there's something to work with, he's very young and raw. Richards is the finished article, a steaming pile.

That's total speculation. You can only judge him based on what you have seen. And that is a 28 year old living off the promise he showed 10 years ago. He was dire last season, for some reason thinks he's a centre back when he's all over the place. I'd steer well clear. Saying you'd rather have him than Jones is neither here nor there. For one thing I'm not sure I would and it isn't a straight choice between the two.
