To be honest I'd be surprised if Pardew is still your manager at the end of 16/17. He's being seriously backed in the market and if he has another one of his wobbles I doubt the powers that be will suffer it.

I think you've massively overpaid for Tomkins though, a player that is barely an improvement on what you already have at centre back. Surely you'll be in the market for new fullbacks though? Ward and in particular Souare strike me massively as your weak links.

He was really impressive for Villa tbf. Earned his move to Liverpool but found himself in a similar position to when they had Andy Carroll. A player who thrives on crosses in a side that doesn't want to cross it.

31 mill is alot but it's a really safe investment. A lot smarter than paying £20 mill for an unknown quantity from a foreign league imo.

Managers rarely last more than a couple of seasons, half the PL will probably be looking for a new manager this season, the standard merry-go-round.

True enough, but everything is set up for Pardew to be there a long time. He's liked by the fans, the players by and large are ok with him, the owners and boardroom members like him. He's not like Koeman at Everton, needing to build rapport with everybody behind the scenes in the boot and board rooms, instill his style, all the while getting fans on board and getting results.

Everything is settled for Alan, but I honestly think Palace will have another streak of bad results that'll see the back of him. If I were making the decisions for Palace I'd be looking now for possible replacements... just in case.
