The number of yellow pages being thumbed through in Sunderland at the minute.

"Maaaam there's nee magedia section in this f***ing thing."

"Look under maggie fanzines son, yer dad's waiting with the phone."

Dear me your Craic is f***ing horrific.

Your best bet is to find a club fanzine on your own level like a Wigan or Burton Albion that type of thing.

Chortle

The whole 'we wouldn't act in that way' carry on if they had relegated us can be put to bed when you remind them of the way they behaved after the 1-5, the 'LALAS' carry on, the Gillingham game and so on.

Are their memories really that bad? Or is it more a case of them being more 'selective' with their memories?
I honestly think this has broken a significant portion of them. The desire to put a brave face on it is one thing but the fracturing of their grip on reality is frightening and goes way beyond bending the truth to suit an argument.

Nineteen ninety f***ing two!

This lad is the same age as me by the sound of it (38)

If you haven't got a team by aged 10 you'll never get the bug, you might 'think' you have it choosing a team as a 14 year old but you haven't, that ship has sailed.

I'm 38 too, loads and loads of plastic mags my age.

I thought you were coming back after 100 pages? Can't count?

I went to school in Lincoln (my dad is the Mackem) and you're absolutely right. The season before when they stayed up by the skin of their teeth with a win at Leicester, I knew one Mag in my school. Twelve months later there were loads of them. It was all the more galling when you consider just how bad we were around that same time.

Even one of my football coaches, who would wear a Man United top to training every week started supporting them and he was an adult in his 30's. Bad times.
