The Witcher 3

I find I'm just hammering square and hoping for the best. I'm really shit at these games though.

Its all about timing mate, don't just mash it. There's a certain 'rhythm' to it. Remember to defend and look to parry attacks too. Pressing square/B will dodge attacks too, and obviously you have your rolls.

Takes time, but there's definitely a art to it.

i read somewhere yesterday that using sidestep is better than rolling, as rolling uses up a bit of your vitality but I'm not sure on that.

My main tip so far would be SAVE YOUR GAME MANUALLY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!!

The game's auto-save function seems to be sporadic and sparse.

It uses up the energy, yes. But that's only important if you are casting magic signs (which you need to do against the monsters)

Way I do it is after casting the sign, sidestep away instead of rolling away, but when it's full rolling away isn't that harmful

Game is pretty badass so far I think, have yet to fight the Gryffon as I'm collecting all the ? around the first map. Think it blows the arse out of Dragon Age.
