Im sure the likes of aldi/lidl have took a fair chunk too.

I think so.

Their own brand discounter items didn't work. I've noticed recently that previously Value branded products have been rebranded into the standard range and are sold at the standard price. That's a bit sneaky

They've been taking the piss out of the public for decades .

Am I the only one that's pro-Tesco? The food is decent, my kids love their Hudl 2's and the discounts on Tesco Direct are good.

Flavour of the month.. People love to knock stuff.. I use all supermarkets including aldi and lidl

Shop sensibly then deals to be had at all

My club card points have paid for chunks of holidays and a ps4 in recent times

i'll bow to your knowledge here mate. not sure. looks like this Dave Lewis bloke is taking the hit now to wipe the slate clean.

Sure I read earlier that they had a vast number of legal bods working on land acquisitions and fighting local authorities etc on sites for stores.
Their portfolio of land acquired but not yet developed was mind boggling.

Sainsburys man as I'm lazy and it's near.

But have used aldi and lidle for certain stuff, again as fairly local( got a class jewellry cleaner from Lidl which I use to clean bike chains and cassettes)

I did hear some bod this morning saying Tesco were one of the largest land owners in the UK

Same here..and huge chucks of it were just sat there tied up while arguing/fighting about future sites.
Suppose much of this subject to their write downs, especially as supermarkets seem to be moving away from huge stores.

I just abuse them. Sign up to all the loyalty cards. Don't go for a couple of weeks and then pop in for a few things in a basket and they give you a voucher to go back for your main shop.

I got £5 off a £40 spend in Morrisons last week and I've got a £7.50 off a £50 spend in Sainsburys to use this week. In each supermarket, I mainly stock up on their special offers as well :D

Just a write down and certainly won't be on what they paid.

Just like saying that at the height the land we owned should we have sold was worth 10 billion.. Now if we sold it would be close to 5 billion.

Mostly on paper not else.

It clears a huge elephant from the room and I've not seen what tescos are doing in the markets this morning but I wouldn't be surprised to see a small rise in the share price
