Anyone reckon we might see some transfer action....

No, we will not. No meaningful stuff anyway. The club may continue their policy of "ones for the future". You know, spending buttons on kids who are either not good enough, unable to learn from the academy or find themselves in an academy that is incapable of developing them.

... or worse still, the kids do improve, but the coach will not play them as has been the case for years.

However the concept of actually buying players who will immediately meet a requirement seems lost on those who make these decisions at SAFC. This with the honourable exception of Defoe who will now occupy the forward position where nobody passes the ball to him ... as we all saw yesterday. It must have looked very familiar to Fletcher who spent his time fannying about on the right wing and seldom got closer to Defoe than ten metres away - a policy imitated by Wickham as he lumbered and stumbled his way around the pitch later on..

I still think we will see some movement, even if it's just a loan. It would be nice to sign someone who adds something to the system if someone can work out what that is.

Mavaras has been going out on loan for the umpteenth transfer windows. Expect that one not to happen again. So probably not.

The manager doesn't appear to be concerned said when he signed Defoe there were no excuses now, so he's put it on the fans to be patient now, one home win in the league all season would have other clubs fans hounding the manager out, and he had the cheek to say we need to be patient, he's losing it

I'm sure he will maintain his policy of continuing to come up with excuses. He made a good start with that yesterday when it was all Rodwell's fault because he got sent off.

No mention of the turgid crap we had to endure during the 66 minutes before then. When I came back to my seat after half time I almost set the alarm on my phone for 16:50. Wouldn't have wanted to doze on after full time.

The only players we sign under this DOF set-up are those that don't play regularly in the PL or are from lower leagues. Our best signing at the moment would be a Chief Executive who has a history of at least competence at another club so the current board can concentrate on what they do best, which is fuck all to do with football.
