No surprise what so ever, Sky will get the result they want one way or the other.

They've got to look after their investment.

Like I say to work their way up to the premier league through every league, would have meant they would have got good marks from managers, clubs, assessors etc.

So by very nature must be good.

Could not have managed that unless they were good, that's simple logic.

Unless you can come up with another reason?

They're masons or rent boys?

That must be why they have reached one of the best leagues in the world to ref in,your statement makes loads of sense.

You must be right the powers of be must want f***ing clueless people to ref in it.

Week in week out it is proved without a shadow of doubt that it is too hard for the human eye to get decisions right.

This thread is about Kevin Friend, and not referees in general.

Grow a pair and admit his performances in Sunderland games over a 5 year period have been utterly useless

Vast majority of them the slag them off a loud mouth god shites who are incapable of looking at the bigger picture

It was quite funny straight after the Everton game, somebody was adamant Wickham tackle was never a pen, calling the ref a disgrace ,however when he was proved wrong, went on for ages saying he had only seen it once while at the match and from one angle,so people were been unfair on him.

Therefore exactly what the ref has to do every game

@Voice of fair play

These below are facts. This thread is about Friend. Not referees in general. Defend him.

Nov 2009 v Spurs. Defoe stamps on Gordon's arm, completely unpunished and allowed Spurs to have a free shot at goal while Gordon was down in agony.

Feb 2010 - Sends off 2 Sunderland players v Pompey (Meyler deserved, Catts harsh)

March 2011 - Awards Liverpool a pen for a foul a couple of yards outside the box. Then sends off Mensah which was later rescinded.

Nov 2011 - Awards an incredibly soft pen to Wigan for a Moses dive.

Nov 13 - Red card for Wes Brown for a perfectly timed tackle.

How many times have you seen Kevin Friend ref outside Sunderland games?

If someone from an other team came on here and listed all Cattermoles red and yellow cards and labeled him a thug what would you say?

Also the one I have bolded, how the fuck can you blame the ref for that?:lol:

I quoted voice, not you. Odd that you respond

Cos I was online and read the post, its a message board for debate after all

I agree he made a massive mistake it sending off Brown nobody could deny that, however Cattermoles sending off on the Portsmouth game you mentioned in your earlier post was not harsh, was a definite second yellow.

let's take your point you made in your earlier post for a second that's 5 bad games in a 5 year period, taking that he probably has 40 games a season that's 200 games, does it not matter how he has performed in his other 195 games, you are saying he is shit based off about 2% of his performances over them years.

I am sure I could pick 6/7 stupid things say Cattermole has done in the last 5 years, however if I came on here and said he was a thug and shit footballer I would be well in the wrong, because Cattermoles overall performances have been good.

All I am saying is when judging a ref you should look at their overall performances not isolated mistakes, just like you should judge a player and the fact he is a ref in the top league in the country suggests his overall performances must have been good.

I have seen Costa miss 5 easy chances, that must mean he is f***ing terrible

You quoted a post to voice saying "I've never said otherwise". Weird. I hadn't said you had. I was quoting a different poster (?)

This is about Kevin Friend refereeing Sunderland matches, not other teams. I have no idea. I assume he's just as useless. I'm not claiming he's corrupt. Just utterly shit.

What exactly are you defending here? I have no idea

Yeah exactly mate that is my point if a forward misses easy chances or a goalkeeper makes a few mistakes, they are not judged on them isolated mistakes, they are judged off their overall performance.

It is farcical to say a ref is shit because of 5 mistakes over a 5 year period, surely if he has been a really good ref in his other games that's means he is good.

It's called looking at the bigger picture some people seem incapable of that.

You are claiming a ref is shit on the basis of 5 mistakes in Sunderland's games. Can you point me towards a ref who hasnt made 5 mistakes in the past 3 year?

How about Catts first yellow? One of the softest I've seen. Catts was stupid giving him no option for the second, but he should never have been on a yellow. Terrible ref who can't see past a reputation.

All I can go on is in nearly 50% of the games he's been in charge of a Sunderland match he's utterly fucked up.

If he as good as you think in all those other premiership games, then maybe he must be corrupt after all and not just shit.

The thing is mate if you said he has been shit in Sunderland games you have watched, that's fair enough your opinion.

But to say he is a shit ref full stop, without having any knowledge of say 90 % of his performances is silly really

See post below. For such a large percentage of fuck ups in only 5 years against Sunderland. He's corrupt or shit. Your call

Why is it such a big thing to you and rob whether we think a ref is just shit against Sunderland, or shit. Bizarre

Your arguments are bizarre, refs make mistakes week in week out, year in year out. The job is simply to hard for the human eye to do perfectly. Yet all you can do is slag them off

If Costa never scored in his next 4 matches against Sunderland would that make him a shit player?

wtf you on about. Costa?

This was simply a thread about a referee who has made some massive clangers in recent games against us.

What you & Voice get out of finding every ref thread and defending them so resolutely is beyond me. Strange lads.

A simple question. Has Friend had an absolute mare of a time in recent Sunderland games. Yes or no?

There's nothing else to add
