Here's the run-in....

Leeds have got the best chance. Tough one for West Ham despite their better form of late.

excellent post

After tonight, I think Spurs are in serious trouble. They really needed a result at home and they fell well short. I reckon they’re fucked.
I thought they'd get at least a point today against a struggling Palace side. They were dreadful.

Tottenham
Wolves
Burnley

Tottenham manager looked like a rabbit in headlights, no clue how to arrest the disaster unfolding in front of him.
Hang in there and just take the payoff 💁

If West ham stay up they've earned it with that run in. Bit similar to ours under Allardyce.

I was surprised to see Palace only two points behind us. That 6 points separating 8 teams in our little cluster is tight. Two games against the teams around us in the next three in the league & Tottenham gives us an excellent chance of being at the front of it. 7-9 points would be class.

Think it'll be Leeds. Imagine the shoe on the other foot midweek: we would have seen that as a must win game, and they sat back most of the game and hit us with one of their only shots on target. This messageboard would be in meltdown.
I’ve seen a lot of social media posts since criticising Farke for their approach.

I think it’s went slightly under the radar, but their form for the last 10 games has been poor. Only three worse is Wolves, Burnley & Tottenham. They had a purple patch around December time & still appear to be living off that in some people’s eyes.

Mind, our form isn’t amazing on those same tables like, however, we are stretching back into AFCON territory then losing our most influential player on top of that for 4 league matches.

Obviously three must go down. But everyone has been doing really well lately.

Wolves have done something we I don’t think have done yet they are rock bottom - get back to back wins against two very strong teams in Aston Villa and Liverpool.

West Ham United have been picking up points lately consistently. Drawing Bournemouth and Man United. Beating Burnley, us, Fulham (tonight) and Spurs in recent weeks.

Nottingham Forest have similarly got points from teams we would struggle against if we were in their position. They drew Man City and Crystal Palace. That’s just about it for the bright spots.

But like most experienced Premier League clubs they have got enough time in this league to develop street smarts. Promoted teams play badly it means that they are on a slide. Experienced teams can get points irrespective of how shit they are. They can be atrocious and still somehow get results. This is why promoted teams struggle. Experienced teams can play badly against a side and win, yet promoted teams can play better against the same team and lose.

Burnley and Leeds have fight in them. They are not certs for the drop. The only game against them either didn’t look like they had fight in them was the Burnley home game.

Tottenham are probably the burger team in the Premier League facing relegation in the era of the Premiership and Premier League. But something tells me that they are too big to go down. They have the kind of players most dream of. If they do I’d love to have Richarlison. They have quality talent. They’ll find a way to survive.

But three have to go down. My pick Wolves, Tottenham and West Ham. Only because it would make next season easier for us.

This is Luke “ Newcastle will never sell Isak or I’ll show my arse in Doggerts window” Shaw’s prediction for 25/26/season

Tottenham Hotspur

Winning the Europa League was a glorious end to a miserable season for Spurs in the league, but in Thomas Frank they have appointed a very impressive manager and they have made some astute signings, too. A top-six finish beckons.

Gan on Luke lad.

He was just a year early on Spurs

Spurs may pull themselves out of the shit, but it’s been a longer period of shit than some folk will realise. In mid-April 2024, they went up to The Visitors as 4th in the league, only needing a few wins to guarantee CL football. They got beat 4-0, and it was the start of a run which has seen them get 73 points from 74 games. Less than 1 ppg over almost 2 full seasons. Based on that they will finish this season on 37 or 38 points. Will that be enough?

Some of their YouTubers mentioned that farke switched to a back 5, they had really good form, but recently he reverted to a back 4.

I don’t particularly like Weeds weeds weeds, but it’s usually preferable to bin off a cockernee club so I hope that it’ll be spuds going down.

That makes it look like West Ham have easily the worst fixtures although are showing the best form.
