West Ham win tonight and that all changes thoughPaddypower odds currently have us finishing 17th and Leeds 16th, with Burnley, Wolves, and West Ham going down. I don't get the Leeds love in tbh, we're better than them imo. Certainly wouldn't swap our squad, manager, or results for theirs.
It's not just RLB, it's SAFC who have a history of poorer 2nd half of the season. 1984/85 is one such example getting relegated from Div 1 after getting to the Milk Cup Final. 15th end of December but 21st come May. Same again next season, 14th December and 20th come May.Le Bris has lost 5+ games in a row in every season he’s managed
He absolutely loves a second half of the season poor run of form
We have just as much history for strong finishes to the season as well - it's how we got promoted loads of times and stayed up about 6 years running during the last stay in the PL.West Ham win tonight and that all changes though
It's pointless using the bookies odds as a barometer for relegation, especially as teams have barley had a mix of games. We could be 10-1 come November but we could lose 5 of the 6 games in December and the odds would plummet.

The two 7th placed seasons, 4th both times but faded away and there's other seasons and most recent being 2021/22 when we were top but ended up 5th. Thankfully we still got promoted though.
Owt could still happen in my opinion, for any team, not just us but as long as we keep plodding along picking up points then great and December is going to be a huge test!
I agree. Needed a draw there tbhShame we lost to them. If we didnt i think they'd be full on panicking now
Still doubting Sunderland have some faith man.The recruitment team have targeted top European defenders and midfielders for a reason. Its a team built for resilience and spirit. Till the end!I think Burnley will go down. Just not got enough.
The other two come from Wolves, Leeds, West Ham, Brentford and Us. And I expect Wolves and West Ham to improve so we still have a lot to do to be anywhere near confident of staying up.
Fair enough opinion. They are next at 5/2 so a close call. Sunderland have started well. A great start in fact. It is a shame, and rare, that they aren’t the only one of the promoted sides to have a decent start. I think, at this early juncture, this is looking like a year where there is going to be a fair few in the mix and it could go to the wire.Leeds
West Ham have a game in hand. Get something and they will lengthen. They have, amazingly for their car crash owners, appointed a capable manager.I think, if I'm reading Oddschecker correctly, we're not longer within the 3 clubs the bookies reckon will go down.
Burnley, wolves, and now West Ham all more likely to go down based on best odds now, with us now just ahead of West Ham (8/5 vs 2/1).
Means fuck all, long way to go, will change If WH win tonight etc, but feels like another mini milestone we've gone past, especially as in May I imagine we were absolutely odds on to go down by a mile.
