Well Livingstone is selected as a batting all-rounder surely.Brook's vulnerability against spin means he'll be targeted with spin as soon as he comes in so until he overcomes it he's a walking wicket.With proper coaching he'll adapt,problem is I don't know of any spin batting coaches.

Well 2 players have, Duckett and Root, they've scored nearly 400 runs between them.

The rest haven't got a 50 between them.

Salt isn't good enough for 50 overs, Brook needs runs badly as does Smith. Curran needs to improve his bowling massively to get anywhere near the side.

Our bowlers have been OK in spells. It's the second spells that's killed us.

That's why I was crying out for Root to bowl more the other day. If a part timer or even main bowler is doing well keep them on, it gives you more options to take bowlers out of the firing line later if they're having a bad day.

Instead we were too rigid and basically said Root's bowled his half spell, Livingston will bowl his half and the other bowlers will bowl 10 each. Absolutely ridiculous lack of thinking on his feet by Buttler especially with a bowler obviously injured too.

Looked at his last 3 years for England
21 games 452 runs @24 and 21 wickets @40.
26 years old and only improving with the bat, definitely feel like there is a role for him at 6 or 7, fairly decent player of spin as well.

Curran & Bethell should be able to provide 10 overs between them, frees up 8-11 being a combination of 4 bowlers (3 seam and 1 spin or 2 and 2).
Throw in Root as another bowling option in the top 5.

In the first game collectively we scored the highest ever total IN ICCCT history. Should have been enough.

Duckett and Root still scored over 230 of our runs. We should have won both games IMO.

Against the Aussies the quicks largely bowled poorly and again the spinners should have bowled more, it's the sub continent! They only bowled 21 overs at a better rate than all the quicks. 350 was a good target, we choked.

The second game we started very well. Got 3 wickets and we're going for less than 4 an over. Then Wood got injured but we took Root out of the attack and brought an injured Wood back in! Bizzare. And the spinners had to bowl at the end 😂

The whole thing has been a shambles apart from the form of Duckett and Root.
