Your bowling attack for the ashes?

Who would you have in Australia on the bowling front? For me -

Archer - Pace pace pace.
Robinson - Very solid top of off bowler. Gets it to seam around a bit.
Anderson - seems to be getting better the older he gets.
Broad - loves it against the Aussies and does
well.

Also on tour -

Wood - Back up to archer. Pace very important.
Woakes - Again top of off.
Curran - The only bowler I’ve seen cause smith serious problems.

I haven’t mentioned spinners, I’m talking fast bowlers only.

Jimmy
Robinson
Wood
Stokes
Then Ali or Leach as spinner.

Curran has no chance of going, Woakes probably shouldn’t go but guess he might be cover for Stokes as an all rounder.

Broad, Overton and then Carse will probably also go

Archer is out

Is that guaranteed? I know a paper said that and archer said on Twitter it was bull shit.

Forgot about stokes as a bowler tbh. Hopefully he’s back after a much needed break and ready to go.

This is for the Ashes 2022/23 when it gets delayed later this year ;)

Those currently in the team plus Wood and Broad. Curran wouldn't even make an impact in grade cricket over there.

I sincerely hope it doesn't happen this year. I really mean that. I really don't think the ashes should happen in the conditions Australian Covid policy will demand of the players and I also think fans should be allowed to watch it too. I think it's better to delay it for a year and also, from a diplomatic sense, try to make the Australians see that there are consequences to their fortress policy. Delta makes that approach to Covid impossible in the long-term, so they need to sort themselves out. Will take a while and the Ashes will come too soon.

If Stokes comes back and Archer is fit next year (I think its certain Stokes is out too this year tbh) then my ideal attack in Australia, with their back up is:

Anderson (Woakes)
Robinson (Broad)
Archer (Wood).
Ali (Leach).

Would take Overton too as cover for if Stokes can't bowl and we have to rejig the side.

I think you can argue about the team, but those nine seem like locks for me in terms of who should be on the plane. You should take plenty of bowlers too. You only need seven batsman including two wicketkeepers.

I will get abuse for this but i cant see anderson taking many wickets in aus at all.

Tbh i cant see many of them taking manywickets.

17 wickets @ 27 last time which was a pretty good return considering the rest of the attack were hopeless.

He’s the least of our worries in fact the bowling attack looks fine I’d say, albeit the spinner option might not be great
