I just like his attitude, I just think he has “it” and people will follow him into battle

Pope, I don’t see it, I think they’re tying to make him into something he’s not

The lad really needs to focus on his batting too as the majority of his innings he gets out early.

I'm no fan of Pope being VC, it was more what you thought marked Brook out as a leader. Not sure I've seen anything like that from him but he definitely seems to work out the game quickly. Gets out the same way a couple of times and learns from it. Not sure if that makes him a leader or just someone who knows how to manage his own game.
 
I never really saw Root as a leader either so I suppose it's possible. Not that he had a great record as captain but he was a popular enough leader with the players I suppose
