Xhaka v West Ham Fans

Footballers are humans. If someone came into your place of work you place of work and shouted abuse at you and your colleagues you wouldn't take it.

Maybe football supporters should have some respect. We complain all the time about be unfairly treated compared to rugby and cricket fans but thing we can shout abuse at people and they shouldn't give it back.

We've seen this with Liverpool v Atletico and Keane at Ipswich last season. We even saw it on STID with that clown abusing Coleman. And it's always the same. "I was frustrated", "I called him a wanker and he just kicked off" or "He's on x amount a week and should be acting like a professional". Maybe we should acted like civil human beings and not think we have the right to abuse a person because he's a footballer.

The stewards were called but didn't react quickly or correctly. That's why VAR had to tell the ref to stop the game. The fan should have been removed.
I don't disagree with what you're saying.
Abuse is abuse whatever the 'circumstances' and yes whoever (if anyone) is shouting abuse should be flung out.
All I'm saying is that (imo) it's unprofessional getting sucked into arguments with the crowd.
Leaves him wide open to other 'supporters' taunting him in the same way .

it was a few waheyys when the substitution was made iirc, the allegations about xhaka's ethnicity might be way off the mark especially as the club havent came out and said owt there imo

Agree with this. Unless it was racist abuse and Xhaka was right to call it out. Imagine if it had been the Mags away to West Ham and it was Joelinton or Bruno arguing with the home fans? I doubt anyone on here would be siding with the player.

Fans can be scum. Football still seems to be one of the few walks of life you can get away behaving like a Neanderthal at times.

But Mukiele’s reaction after being subbed along with Xhaka’s behaviour isn’t a good look, we’re getting well beaten in the game of course the stick and abuse is going to ramp up if you throw your toys out of the pram.

This.

I'm sure the rule is that if the referee is made aware, there must be a public announcement and a message on screen as a first response to it.

De ja vue

Yep

When Manchester United's Eric Cantona attacked a fan in 1995

Wtf

Xhaka was only having a heated discussion with one/some fans. He didn’t boot the fucker.
Why did it take so long for the stewards to get involved. If fans are getting into the players as much as that they have to be shifted, it's a joke actually and West Han should be heavily fined.
Points deducted imo, and points awarded to us for having to go through the ordeal.

Well lets hope it dosnt happen next season when West Ham are visited by the likes of Wrexham at a half empty Council Stadium.

When you read up on Xhaka upbringing and what his parents went through , his dad imprisoned and tortured for 3 year , it’s no wonder he’s probably hard as nails the shit he will have seen as a kid
Xhaka was born in Switzerland, so I doubt that he will have seen much shit, beyond cuckoo clocks being smashed to bits with the bigger bars of Toblerone.

My wife's family are all West Ham fans.

And before we played Spurs I was all for West Ham going down. Then I saw Spurs' reaction to our win and it became a win-win for me.

If Spurs go down great, if West Ham go down, great.

What people seem to forget is that the Championship is actually enjoyable there just isn't as much money in it unfortunately.

I really don’t care who goes down.

But I take issue with your claim that the Championship is enjoyable.

It was fun for us twice.

The rest of the time it was crap with opposition teams with players you’ve never heard of.

Crap refs who get stuff wrong.

The Premier League is the only place for a club of our stature.

Long may it continue.
