Xhaka not happy with the early leavers

The fans pay to be there. Leave if they want.
Diarra was paid to be there, he should have turned up.

I never understand why players turn on the fans. It’s never a good look

Yeah. I got away from old trafford a lot easier than I did from the SoL.

Trying to get to the A19 is a nightmare
I take it the traffic is miraculously so much worse getting away from the ground now than it was earlier in the season. 🤔

Not sure if it's been mentioned on the thread but the situation with traffic to and from the stadium needs addressing asap. Whilst I don't agree with it, I do sort of understand why people leave early as I've sat for well over an hour on occasion along Wessington Way and then you go over Wearmouth Bridge and that's equally problematic. If leaving 10 minutes early saves that wait I do appreciate why people would do it, especially if they have kids with them. The club and Sunderland Council need to come together and resolve this.

Instead of putting traffic lights every 50 meters, the council should be looking to ease congestion, not create it.
Every car park is solid gridlock for at least an hour after the final whistle. I normally stay till the end then go to the pub and even then there’s a massive queue in the car parks. Shit show

To be honest mate, I have been parking at St Mary’s lately. takes well over an hour to get out of there from level 2. I got out of my seat a minute early, and stood by the exit. Darted out right as the whistle went and straight out without a queue. Didn’t leave early, was ready to go bang on. Will be doing this on the regular now, helps when we loose as no post match celebrations.

Got a tip for you mate … don’t park at St Mary’s.
If any other fans would like consultation on how to stay to end, just let me know below.
😉

Thing is there’s definitely a ‘here we go again’ mentality in our fan base and history has proved it to be correct. We are quite self deprecating but it’s typical Sunderland to lose to bottom of League 1 and then have the wheel come off what’s been a brilliant season.

Every time we’ve been anywhere near getting our act together since moving to the SoL, it ultimately turns out to built on sand and very quickly unravels.

I’m already concerned about next season, because we’re not playing well and the points form at the minute is relegation scrap levels. I think it’s fair to assume recent form is more relevant than what we achieved in the first half of the season.
Don’t know why this hasn’t got more likes, it sums up this season perfectly. We burst into the scene all guns blazing, built up a small head of steam and played exceptional football then right after AFCON it seems the wheels just fell off. We’ve got slower, less creative and it’s even hard to pick out a fluid shape or formation on the field. We looked totally lost on Saturday. The refusal to change what isn’t working until 70+ minutes into the game also doesn’t help

Seriously, maybe that’s an area where the club could get involved with council and endure traffic light settings are timed to give priority to car parks …. In the days of old they would have a policeman controlling the traffic in such gridlock

Yup fully agree it’s terrible. In that fancy new riverside car park they also have 2 floors fully reserved for permit holders so it’s always a nightmare getting parked. It would also be safer for peds too if they had better light controls. They should really have another crossing next to the Isis

This was always going to happen. AFCON, Injuries etc.
We were always going to hit a sticky patch…. Incidentally like pretty much every club in the Premiership apart from the top few.

We have ran out of steam, but that does not mean it’s permanent.

We will go again in the summer to make that next step forward and build on this season on a very strategic way.

We have never had professional football management at the club, that’s why this time is different to the rest.

Keep the faith and keep behind these lads because if their heads drop you build a self fulfilling prophecy

Tens of thousands of people leaving a football ground all at once. Traffic is to be expected.

We avoid the Wessington Way.

I’m not happy with us losing 3 home games on the spin or scoring 1 goal in 8 games from open play.

They get backed to the hilt when they’re doing their job, he needs to have a word with his millionaire teammates before having a pop at the fans.
All I read here is ‘you get supported when it’s going well, but if players are struggling a bit and the squad is depleted with injuries, you can fuck off until you’re playing well again’…

It didn't get more likes as it implies it's another "here we go again" when it isn't. That implies a failure. We are well ahead of the curve this season, despite having to gel a new team, injuries and AFCON. Of course we aren't looking quite the same currently, half the team is out injured. People have lost their minds in recent times weeks. A full strength 11 will give most a game, just like it was earlier in the season.

He is absolutely spot on - especially the bit about attracting top players to the club.
It all changed after Liverpool. Up until then there wasn't a 15 thousand pile out at the 85th minute.

I do feel the club is gonna have to some how address it as it is a bad luck to any would be signings.

They might have to start playing on 'til the end' again and get the players to make a video stating how important the atmosphere is until the final whistle in time for Spurs
"the bunch of helmets who do leave early should go to the back of the queue when it comes to away tickets, as well as for Wembley."

Absolutely bang on by the way.
Hhaha

would love that

I don't think Afcon cost us many points if any.Adringa started v Leeds and scored when likely wadn't of if Talbi wasn't away. Our problems are scoring,Sadika doesn't score or create,Diarra (injured anyway) I think we can now safely say wasnt missed.

Any evidence anywhere of this ‘moan’?

Well he stood there facing the crowd chuntering on at them for some time in what appeared to be a disapproving way.

Three things were happening
1. Crowd exodus
2. Nothing coming from crowd in terms of support
3. I saw one fan on his feet gesticulating back towards him.

It was a bit of a Celia Smith moment without the microphone.,

Only Xhaka wasn’t drunk and he looked angry.

Pleased he did it because if it was allowed I would do the same thing and Iam not Granit Xhaka

Power to you Granit son, you know what it takes to be successful at this level on the pitch.

Over to the fans is it ‘til the end’ or ‘I will f..k off when I want to’

Traffic is just a convenient excuse for people that don't want to stay when we aren't winning or it isn't a big game.

seemingly there were no traffic issues when we were playing well and winning

some folk could live next door to the stadium and they'd still leave early if we're not playing well. it's habitual to them at this stage and isn't going to change

it just feels in general the novelty of this season has worn off for many. granted the football is poor at the minute but even pre game, the atmosphere at the start etc. wise men say was deafening earlier in the season and everything just seems a bit flat now
