Xabi Alonso

If he succeeds great for him.

If he is binned off by them, won’t really harm him professionally as everyone knows that are barmy.

Bumfluff Josh must be tearing his three pubes out at this point. No Mourinho, no Alonso...what will this poor impoverished club do?

Oh aye, stick with Young Brucie and his collection of failed Sunderland offcasts

Madrid should never have sacked him, but I think he's mental to take that job.

They're an absolute mess off the field which IMO makes it almost impossible to succeed and if/when it goes wrong here, his reputation will take a massive battering, even if it's not entirely his fault.

That said, London and the fact he'll end up with a payoff of about £10m for what is likely to be less than a season's work is hard to turn down I suppose.

If they give him more control and time then it's a superb job for him and a great appointment.

If they're not accepting that the way they are doing things isn't working then they'll repeat the same mistakes again.

I certainly would prefer Xabi Alonso as coach to Michael Carrick. Utd get it wrong again.
My only doubt is why does Xabi want to go to another club not famous for giving their coaches time?
