World Test Championship 2021-23


Was curious as to why there was no talk about the importance of the final two ashes tests in relation to the WTC. Thought one of the main drivers of this was so there were no dead series.

Away series was the last tournament.

What I don't understand is why the percentage thing is being used.

Is this purely down to India wanting to play the IPL instead of against us?

Were the series in Pakistan that were cancelled test ones? I thought it was white ball only.
 
Should play the final every 4 years after everyone has had a series against each other. Points system would be fairer too as it would be based on series results rather than individual tests. Ie currently beating West Indies at home 3-0 is worth more than beating India away 2-1

This. There was little wrong with the old ranking system in truth, all they need to do for this is take the top 2 teams from that at the end of each 4 year cycle to play in the final.
