Was class like, especially after the season we had.

With the benefit of hind legs the draw was proper favourable but couldn't give a shit at the time.
 
It was a great like.

Spent the majority of it out in the sun at Brudenell Social Club in Leeds, huge screen out the front. Every game seemed like it was 35 degrees. Best WC of my lifetime.

Probably true for me as well. Mexico 86 and Spain 82 are the only competitors. People will mention Italia 90 but, apart from England doing well, it was pretty awful.

That's an annoyance with all World Cups. Also, people who now think that "Three Lions" is called "Football's Coming Home".
 
IIRC I was smashed off my tits in a bar in Side Harbour during one of the matches and struggling to light my celebratory cigar. Got a light off a fellow SMBer - @Brian Griffin . Unless he was lying.
 
Got beat off both decent teams we played. Didn’t win the World Cup. Easiest potential run to the final in most lifetimes. Failure imo.
 
Best part for me was being lucky enough to get to Russia for the England v Tunisia game & a few days sightseeing afterwards. The locals were class in Stalingrad & Moscow was very impressive.
