World Cup kick off times

This is the best World Cup tune ever .

Argentina `78 - my first World Cup that I was aware of. Absolutely loved it - the theme tune, the ticker tape, Archie Gemmil`s goal, Kempes and Luque`s long hair as they raced up the wing, the insane crowds, the satellite phoned in commentary...and my Argentina `78 Panini sticker book duly completed

I’ll pick and choose but will probably only make the effort for the England games

Up until a couple of tournaments ago I’d make the effort to watch every single game when school / work permitted

Cba with this one though, they’ve made a right mess of the sport at that level recently

I think in Italia 1990 I watched every single game (apart from the simultaneous ones at the end of the 1st round). I was 18, just finished A Levels so had nothing to do all summer before going to college. After that work always got in the way.

Japan/South Korea in 2002 was probably the worst. I was travelling a lot for work at the time and missed the England v Brazil Q Final as I was in a meeting in Belgium.

First two Scotland games kick off at 2am Saturday night/Sunday morning and 11pm on a Friday night. A lot of them will be lucky to see kick-off 😆

Like with the euros, they've killed the excitement of the group stage. Loads of games, loads of teams there who simply wont be able to compete, and barely any jeopardy for the decent sides because even 3 points would give you a canny chance of getting through. Too many games to lose too few teams. At this point they might as well just go to 64 teams, let every fucker in, but stick to groups where only 2 go through

It’s too big and the groups look so weak as a result. There will be some real boring rubbish played early on as the better sides aim to conserve energy and avoid injuries.

You knew it would happen but every game having a break after 22 mins into each half means effectively we have 4 quarter matches. Who’d have believed that in the USA, cue the adverts.

Same here, just. I was 7. I can remember that theme tune and watching the Scottish matches. Mario Kempes was class. Can't remember a Panini album but I had the Top Trumps cards. Loved it.

Meh tbh, gone are my days of trying to watch every game going. Will try to watch some home nation games and ofc England.

Previous tournaments I've been able to put games on in the background while I'm working, with games kicking off in the middle of the night that won't be an option.

FIFA aren't arsed about places where football is already big and well established. It's all about growing the market and making more money for them.

First world cup I'm just not interested in whatsoever. Thought it'd be Qatar, but this is the one. Between the Trump appeasement, Ronaldo crookery, Infantino's corruption, attempts to alter the game to appease Yanks and the late kick off times....just can't be arsed at all.
Add in the totally insane ticket prices.
My mate lives in Texas and was taking time off to do the WC. He knew it wasn’t going to be cheap. He is now going to Jamaica on holiday. Some of the less attractive games will have half full (that’s optimistic) stadia.

coverage is going to be torture...dumbed down for dumbass yanks, stopping play for ad breaks is the ultimate capitulation from FIFA

bbc,itv etc usually pick up local feeds
