World Cup. Just "the lads" players .

I've just read an article on BBCSport website which lists clubs with 10+ players at the World Cup and we aren't on it. Is it BBC bias or have I read it incorrectly?

You definitely haven't read it wrong. They stated 17 clubs have ten or more players heading to the World Cup and of those 5 are English and it doesn't mention us at all

If already one then please merge mods.

I'm not really into WC but I will try to watch games our lads are playing in .Guess lot of folk may be thinking same as me.

Friendly last night . Angulo started v Saudis ( no not them) in a 2 1 win.
Interesting little aside here is we get paid £8,125 for every day one of our players is away with their national squad for the world cup and that started when they met up last week and continues till the day their team gets eliminated. 11 players x £8,125 is just under £90,000 per day and as the group stage does not finish till 26th/27th/28th, we are looking at a minimum of £2.1m between now and then on top of the circa £600k we will already have earned for the last week.

And that's assuming all our players fail to make the knockouts which is extremely unlikley. We could be looking at £2.5 to £3m all in.

I could be wrong but I think their might be smaller payments for ex academy players as well so Pickford and Henderson as well.

Good info.

Would never have thought we'd get something for ex academy players like. Strange that one after all these years, but nice if is true

You would cheer on Netherlands against England in a WC semi final just cos they have Brobbey & Roefs in the squad?
Brobbey versus Dan Burn, its carnage Oranjeboom

SAFC will receive a minimum of $250,000 per player from FIFA for their participation at the World Cup.
I knew we signed Masuaku for a reason

If it’s the same table I saw on Instagram earlier, they haven’t counted Adingra or Masuaku

Tommy Smith - New Zealand
That's a stretch. Didn't even know who he was.
On 21 February 2020, Smith joined League One club Sunderland on a contract until the end of the season. With the suspension of the 2019–20 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he did not make an appearance for the club. He left Sunderland at the end of the season following the end of his short-term contract.

He must be from one of the lowest level leagues going to the World Cup. Plays for Braintree Town

Aye he was on the bench against Bristol Rovers the next day (3-0 win), and 1-1 vs Fleetwood 3 days later. Then didn't feature in the final 3 games before the league ended.

They're not counting players we have loaned out, for some reason.

I noticed that after I'd read it and posted on here. They have to have played their last game for us beforehand. Adingra and Masuaku didn't

They love finding a way to completely ignore us
