Lad started our place and had been a driving instructor before that and was still doing it on the side, tenner a lesson.
He looked a bit like Al Bundy but wires got crossed and someone called him Ted Bundy so he got called that but the old storeman Albert thought we were calling him Ten Pundy cos he charged ten pund for his driving lessons.
Shortened to Pundy.

I knew a lad on site once who got called Ted, everyone called him it and his name was Graham so I asked why and apparently he once said 8 years prior he really hated the name Ted and so people started calling him it as a windup

One of my old work colleagues got called Tinkle because he used to go for a piss break about 8 times during an 8 hour shift. That and he openly admitted he had a small knob as well

I used to work with a plater known as seldom.
Second name was Wright, so he got stuck with Seldom Wright. It didn't help his cause as it was 100% true.
