Worcester v Durham

love it me like (the outrage)

It's funny in many ways but also a tad embarrassing. A mixture of football fans who clearly don't watch the club, and people who have absolutely no idea on the history of county durham and the club. The lads have sang that song for years now. Durham "fans" who have no idea on the history of the club/county....... embarrassing.

It's about a charabanc of Geordies from Newcastle (then in Northumberland). Blaydon was then in County Durham, but it's more intimately associated with the city of Newcastle-upon-Tyne than the County of Durham.

It isn't a great historical or geographical fit, but there aren't really any better local songs for that sort of thing.
happy 21st Brandon
Thought he was 40-odd the way he gans on.

Many happy returns kidda.

Great win for Durham today and particularly well done to Potts and Jones. After the latter's first innings dismissal against Essex I doubted that he was up to First Class Cricket but after innings of 35, 78 and 34* it looks as if he is finding his feet and I'm pleased to be proved wrong.

Also it looks like at the very least we will have avoided the bottom two places in the table.😁

I’m neither and it isn’t my birthday.

It's a song about leaving the desolate wastelands of newcastle upon Tyne and heading to the sunlit uplands of County Durham and what a joyous journey it was. The strange thing is why it's a skunk anthem really, its over riding message is the toon is a hole and I can't wait to get out
