Woodstock ‘99

Quite cynical of me but a lot of those alpha Stifflers dickheads would have been in Vietnam in 69.
I love how they keep referring to its like this legendary festival when the line up is like the worst day of Reading or Leeds.
The black reporter in it is really fit and she doesn't look like she's aged a day.

Watched this the other night and it was fascinating stuff. Utterly mental line up considering it was supposed to be a Woodstock. Those bands + heat + pissed up frat brats was always going to be shitstorm but the fact there was no organisation either.

I can't really remember much from when it happened mind. Then again I can't remember much about 1999.

I remember it like yesterday. Super Kev and Quinny, United win the treble, I spent the year shagging the fittest lass I've ever shagged, weekends getting fucked up on pills. Magic time in my life

I loved this, wild, but truly the last time on earth when life was truly fun. No cameras everywhere or phones. Bring back the smaller world, where people had to venture into their community to socialise. Events really were events. It’s all made up internet stuff nowadays.
If there were no cameras there the documentary would be shit like

What’s mental
About it like?
Watched it over the weekend and yes the organisers were useless but i didnt get the hysteria from the people in the doc regards what went on
There were qtr of a million people there and it had a bit of drama but not on the scale it tries to portray
I think Fred Durst deserve some of the blame. He knew the crowd was fired up decided to add to it. Kid Rock is an arse but I don't think his set was bad (music wise it was). I think they were easy targets.

RHCP came on stage saying the fires look amazing and start singing Fire by Jimi Hendrix. I'm nearly sure RATM set fire to a flag on stage. But they are popular bands and liked by the right people. Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock aren't.
The footage didnt reflect the narrative though ,they're saying it was a powder keg etc and hostile to pictures of masses having a great time watching a band . "They booed sheryl crow " ,pans to a crowd clapping . Those type of bands are in their element in those situations .You go to sing fk u i wont do what u tell me with 200,000 other people .
Rhcp always played Fire on the encores too
