Woodgate

I dont think he will be sacked if he can stay out of the drop zone. The club have done to him what they did to Mobray. Set him up to fail by making him look at lower leagues for players . I do think he has enough about him to keep us up but it will be close.

He shouldn't have been appointed in the first place.

Following his appointment, the club tried to cover up the fact that Woodgate was only appointed due to financial restraints, by claiming we were building for the future, signing bright young talents from the lower leagues, giving academy players chances and setting out to play high-pressing, attacking football. We were told that Woodgate knew the academy players inside out after previously working with them- who was ready to make the step up.

The reality is we have a wafer thin squad, which is devoid of any real quality, and a manager who is out of his depth.

I just hope Gibson acts and doesn't allow us to sleepwalk down to League One. To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if Pulis ends up returning until the end of the season.
Maybe get Terry Venables back, he saved Robbo's job a few years back ! FTM

Potentially no premier league teams from the North East next season with one in the championship and two in league one.

Even by the low standards we all set that would be pretty disgusting.
Yer right mate.
No good crowing on about Woodgate when the whole region is a complete head fuck football wise.
They look like joining us next year like
That’s two League 1 SKY games covered then

Think he’s on a hiding to nothing. Given no money and taking on a side littered with Pulis signings which gives him a difficult job to implement a new style of play that doesn’t involve being horribly direct.

It’s not looking good for him but they should give him a little more time IMO.

I think they could go down, I strongly fancy Huddersfield to fly up the league, Stoke have the quality to go on a good run and sides tipped to struggle like Charlton, QPR and Luton have thus far exceeded expectations.

I don't think how Woodgate is doing at Boro will have any bearing on Phillips at Sunderland.
Neither do I. It's just possible SD took notice of what was happening there and was influenced when making his decision.
Personally I think he would have been a far better choice
