Hi guys, yes poster of the year twice 20 odd years ago is still at 74 years old alive and kicking. Whilst I don’t post these days I look in from time to time to see what the craic is. I don’t get to the match these days, it’s a bit much now physically to follow the lads, based in Carlisle, home and away like I used to. I now subscribe to streaming coverage.

What a season this has been, for me the best of my lifetime. The first promotion season 1963/64 when Charlie was king was very special. The Alan Durban era produced something that promised but didn’t materialise. 1972/73 saw the FA Cup win, that was a great team that also gave us promotion to the top division. The Reid years until it all went wrong were hugely enjoyable. I could write pages of stuff/periods since I was born a 4th generation Mackem.

This season is very special for me. After languishing in league one (div 3 in old money) for those seasons that we did all of a sudden things took off and here we are. Progressively we’ve achieved a 7th place Premier League, Europa League qualification and to quote that old football quote I’m “over the moon”. Huge thanks to all those players and management who have got us from the depth of League One to where we are today. Haway The Lads.

Been following you on here for years and good to see you again. Best season for me since I started in 1973/74.
