Perhaps the England women's team should just pick Kevin Pietersen and Jimmy Anderson for the world cup then.
County cricket isn't specifically a men's specific team game the England cricket team is however. I see no problem with it if they're good enough Sarah Taylor is a decent player wether she has the reactions for it I'm unsure.

I can't see it gale bing anytime soon. The quickest bowling they face in the women's teams is 60-65mph - most club bowlers can bowl quicker!
No chance against the likes of Finn, Onions and Meaker
There's definitely a place for women in cricket, it's called the tea room.![]()
Women can't catch.
But im all for equality.
Is there not a local lass who plays in the Durham senior league, not sure which team but she is a current England ladies player. Been one or two articles in the Echo about her.
Danielle Hazell plays for Durham City?
I am all for it if they are good enough and its not a publicity stunt. As it stands some of the bowlers could easily get a game in mens cricket, particularly the spinners.
In terms of batting I take the point that it will be a big step up, however in County Seconds there arent a huge amount of bowlers who will be bowling well into the 80s on a given day. EVen so, if they were to practice in that environment I am sure they would adapt and get used to it.
To me that makes a mockery of it. She's nowhere near Durham's best player yet she's an England Women's Interntional..... Tells you what you need to know about the standard.
That's what it is though, publicity. I don't believe these women are there on merit and I think that it'll all end bad for them. I've seen quite a bit of second team cricket and I think you'd be surprised at how quick the bowlers are. Bearing in mind last season Durham's Second team pace attack consisted of Harmison, Plunkett, Brathwaite and Wood for the most part - funnily enough Harmison was probably the slowest out of that lot.
Couple if hits to the head and that will be it IMO.
For starters Danielle hazzell isn't one that's being targeted the two that are being targeted are way ahead of her. They can easily replicate fast bowling with the use of a bowling machine to see if they're up to it. There are a few cricketers in county cricket who aren't upto facing that speed and a few softer than these girls no doubt and they will have been hit on the helmet before.
