Lets use the olympic medals as an example. Laura Kenny has won 5 gold medals that is more than Mo Farah's 4 gold medals. it is a fact, no one says that Laura Kenny would win less if she was cycling in the males section. She won 5 against the most elite athletes in her field. She is 4th in the medal table btw.

As you already know, the BBC don't have the rights to the EFL, so they wouldn't/couldn't cover it.

As far as I’m aware, olympics and track and field medal tables have always been combined as some sports are mixed, no need to change that. Men’s football and Women’s football stats have always been separate, once again there’s no need to change that. Not sure what the BBC are trying to achieve by combining them, it’s forming a list which has no relevance.

But as far as I'm aware, all of Laura Kenny's medals were in all female events? So are her accomplishments less impressive than a male cyclist winning the same number of medals in all male events?

Could it not also be showing the scale of the achievement by Ellen White? Scoring 51 goals at international level, the peak of the sport they are in, is incredible. It is giving it a point of reference.

Where do you rate Serena Williams in terms of Tennis players?
