Woltemade wants away

He’s got 1 less than brobbey who supposedly does suit us

In 1,100 minutes vs 1,634, starting 33% of games vs 58%.

There's a player in Isidor. He is a very good finisher, very composed. Brobbey brings more than goals, and is rightly in the team given our needs, but I think Isidor is the better goalscorer.

Isidor would be great if all opposition teams were high pressing but they aren't. His general footballing attributes are rather limited.

Would be more effective playing behind the main striker or being thrown on late when chasing the game.
His best career season, at Stuttgart prior to joining the mags, that was exactly how they played him. It's also how, in the main, he's been played by the national team.

Howe has basically tried to turn him into a type of player he's never been. After his form dipped post the derby, he's threw him under a bus by either playing him completely out of position or having him on the bench. That says more about Beheaddie's inflexibility to change his team's set up than Woltemade's abilities as a footballer, for me.
The Mags might be able to offload him if he has a decent World Cup as he still seems to be rated over in Germany . They will take a massive hit though .
They paid at least half more than his true value imho. £25-30m would have been great business, maybe even up to €40m. But his career stats, and where he's actually played, should have been enough evidence of it being a huge gamble.

He's only came into the national team picture really recently at senior level too, mostly due to injuries to the normal first choices.
He will be away on loan i reckon and offer to buy to one of the German teams
Maybe. Back to Stuttgart?

But no way are the mags recouping their outlay. Plus arguably they've damaged his progress too.
He's never really played like a striker, he's more of a 10, but he's still scored a few and barely played.

He just doesn't fit how they play, and Eddie only has one way of playing. They clearly didn't do their homework and panic bought.
This ☝️ ☝️ ☝️ times 1000.
Definitely. Mags played this all out press and that isn’t Woltermade game at all. Put him in a more possession based team playing through the lines i think he would make a difference. But Newcastle 100mph football trying tk get forward as quickly as possible at any opportunity with pace of Gordon Elanga Barnes etc doesn’t suit him at all
And this ☝️☝️☝️☝️
What is he suited to then? He's as weak as piss for a big lad.
He can hold the ball well to bring in other players, he has good footwork and can ping balls about for team mates. He also actually has a decent shot and good crossing ability. Like a few lanky players he's weirdly not great in the air challenging but does have a good header.

Imho his biggest falling so far has been adapting to the pace and physicality of the PL. He doesn't really have a burst of pace and isn't robust. Add in the inability of Howe to adapt his tactics to suit his record signing, as well as whatever else is going on behind the scenes, which sees him benched for a lot of games and I'd say he's regressed since he arrived at the Mosque on the Mound.

Is he currently a £65m PL striker? Clearly not. Is he a shite footballer and a carthorse? Clearly not.

tame mag i know says this is pretty much the biggest problem, apparently isak played a pressing game & supposedly covered a decent amount of ground without the ball - whereas woltemade has an entirely different ability with none of the attributes for the press.

No he doesn't hold the ball well. He can easily be knocked off it by opposition players.

He's the ultimate square peg in a round hole as long as Beheaddie continues to persist with his kick and rush, 100mph break out football. If he tried perhaps to actually play football, pass the ball, hold onto possession, build from open play he'd imho get better performances from Ole St Nick sitting as a #10 with players moving around for him to link with.

But he doesn't really seem to have the players, or the inclination, to shift from his stubborn, inflexible position.

There also must be a lot more going on behind the scenes as all the talk from the orcs on socials is of his sticking with favourites whilst not playing signings that cost over £150m.

He does and he has, his purple patch when he first arrived and was full of confidence. Clearly the OG at the SoL affected that and seems to have been something of a catalyst for whatever falling out went on between him and Howe.

But as I've posted he has struggled with both the pace and physicality of PL football. Wirtiz was the same at Liverpool, but they actually stood by him and have seen improvements. Woltemade hasn't had that benefit.

You've clearly seen him in different games to me then 😄

With the amount of their players who seem desperate to be away there has to be something seriously wrong behind the scenes that go way deeper than a poor season on the pitch.

Warra shame
Loads of speculation about split dressing room due to the Isak saga, Beheaddie sticking with his favourites and of course enjoying seemingly untouchable status from his tame journos. Add in the flops they've spent millions over the odds for and no amount of team photos can take away from there being something rotten in Jawdee Hawrabia.

I watched/watch a lot of Bundesliga. He had the best ever season of his career by a countrymile for Stuttgart and even then wasn't their best player. Most improved? Maybe given where he was when he arrived.

When the mags first signed him I was surprised they even had him as a target and aghast that they'd been absolutely dry bummed by Stuttgart in terms of the fee.

Had they got him for half the cost and stated that he was being gradually brought into the first team, no pressure, work in progress etc, then it would have been better for all concerned.
