Their window has been really really poor an while they raised £85m in sales last summer, Ashley could have easily just went for loans, League One players or bog standard Championship players but instead spent £55m on top Championship / fringe Premier League players to put them in a strong position to achieve promotion, that largely seems to get forgotten about though.

This. But they'll never admit it. He Rafa had to sell his best players and only got £1m back to spend they'd have been miles away. They only just scraped it after spending £50m.
It's mind boggling. What they spent to get back up is such an extreme on what teams historically have to go up from the Championship. Yet Rafa is a genius.

£1.25m is just as extraordinary mind.

55 million on 11 players and a loan signing isn't that much really, considering 14 left in the same window

It's like some wierd cult that no other football fan can get their head around.

The mags are embarrasing themselves by clinging on to the name of rafa Benitez who in his past years made a name for himself by managing some massive clubs and winning some big trophies and fair play to him

But that was years ago he's a has been now and no top club would touch him with a 50 foot barge pole but that doesn't stop those daft c.u.n.t s from over the tyne from wanking themselves silly over the name of the manager

Any other manager would be slated by the mags man

There's only one embarrassing club around these parts right now and it certainly ain't NUFC

Fuck of man how do you think super world class rafa would have done last season with 2 million to spend on top of a terrible squad that was relegated with 24 points

You lot are a f***ing joke defending Benitez no matter what. I can't wait for you lot to turn on him cos it will happen and you will look even more foolish

Both clubs are but nufc fans make them embarrassing

23 players left (via transfermarkt).

Wasn't including the ones loaned out as we had the option to recall them or not even sanction the loan.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

And a wage bill higher than many Premier League teams.

Yes that's true. Shock horror a club using the resources available to it.

Villa spent more than Newcastle and were nowhere. Money doesn't guarantee success. It's how it's used.

Yea course they would one manager had 50 million to spend while the other has had 1.5 million but apart from that it's an identical situation

They live in a f***ing rafa Benitez fantasy world
Why do safc fans post the mag shit on here to debate

Av it at them on that board

You should include the loans, they were outgoings, none were recalled, I don't know what the option to "not even sanction the loan" means? The only player Newcastle had no control over leaving was Townsend (release clause was met), Newcastle didn't have to "sanction" any sale.
