Wireless Charging Techy Help

just got an all in one desktop that has a qi enabled base to allow me to wireless charge my iphone 7+.

Question I have, do I require an additional charging plate to attach to the bottom of the phone or should it be picking it up without one?

Putting mine in the microwave for one minute and thirty six seconds, at 900 watts, seems to work. Lasts for weeks.
