Makes sense on a number of levels - with the “model”.
Played age group football for France most of the way through, so obviously talented as a youngster. Maybe not quite lived up to that potential yet - like a number of our signings.
Possibly some Le Bris input. Here too, given the timing of Le Brie’ involvement in French academy football, and this fellas age. Would have overlapped and so Le Brian presumably knows of him/saw him play at those age groups.
And also - and this isn’t necessarily a negative - cheap. Whether people like it or not that’s the model as we’ve seen it so far. I assume though that as it’s a foreign loan we will age. An automatic option to pay a set fee at the end, to make it permanent? If so, best of both worlds - if he’s crap we send him back, if he’s not, we pay the fee. Try before you buy.
