Will Still - Lens Manager

Why is everyone just ignoring the fact that we obviously could've had a manager in place before now, just not the one we wanted? Imagine the hysteria if we'd just rushed to appoint a head coach a week after Beale left and he turned out to be shite. We also could've had somoene in place by now if our number 1 target didn't become available. Yes they deserve stick for the Beale appointment but if they're holding out for their number 1 target ready for the new season then I've got no issue with how long it's taken. Provided Still is in place in time for a full pre-season and transfer window I'm happy with that.

It certainly can't be said they have rushed the decision, no excuses if they get the next appointment wrong like the last two.

Can only assume they've waited for a particular head coach to become available, which is Will Still in this instance. Every chance it could go tits up and he goes elsewhere and we're left with Heckingbottom.

The last few months have been completely blown out of proportion, and that's from someone who is massively critical of the ownership and structure.

The Beale choice was shite, everyone could see that a mile off but by the time he was sacked there was virtually no chance of us making the playoffs, If we did, There would have been a clamour to keep Dodds anyway as he would have been on some miracle run to get us near. There's zero point in rushing this appointment when we are clearly working towards getting our first choice. Would people rather we appointed someone we didn't want, Just to say we have a manager in place now, ahead of the 2024/25 season?

It's dragging on this appointment, but right now, whether it was done two weeks ago or on June 1st it makes absolutely zero difference. The season was disgustingly wrote off far too soon, but that was because the Beale appointment was wrong. I'd rather they took their time now than appoint some absolute knacker just to say it's done.

Far too sensible a post for this place mate 🤣
