I would argue that he did a good job at Huddersfield. Took them out the bottom 3 to mid table in 6 months then was sacked because they said they wanted to go in a different direction…. They did.

He went to Newcastle University and met his wife who is from Newcastle. I think they moved back their a couple of years ago.

He's an excellent journalist and not a bullshitter, but I'm not sure what he said was anything concrete at all.
 
Sounds like he was speculating to me rather than actually knowing anything. Easy to do considering how heavily still was linked in December; and now he is free.

Bit like sheff wed when they brought in that rohl we've just gotta hope it works out. We ain't getting a proven top flight manager anytime soon so just like the signing of kids we've just gotta hope we hit gold with still or that lad from Germany. Still being a top flight manager in France is at least a sign he's got something about him.

Aye all fair points of view but thankfully they won't be coming to Sunderland.
On the question/prospect of the Still bros, me personally totally underwhelmed.

What have I guessed at?

I observed that he is flavour of the month having achieved nothing of note. I don’t think that’s a guess, I would like to hear your contrary opinion on this though if you feel he has achieved something.

I observed that the way people are carrying on is similar to how they did about the cowleys, which again, is pretty factual.

And I observed that they utterly tanked at pompey, which again, they did.

I’m not seeing any guesses there.
