Will Jack Clarke cut it in the Premier League?

Ever since that Newcastle game I'm convinced people mentioning Trippier having Clarke in his pocket didn't watch that match

He barely touched the ball all game because we couldn't get the ball up the field at any point and then played centrally most of the second half when that tit in charge had no idea what to do. Barely got the chance to run at Trippier.

I hope he does great and becomes an England regular, but suspect he’s one of those players that are too good for the championship but not good enough for the Prem

I hope so. He's been great for us, don't blame him for wanting to play in the Premier League, and wish him nothing but the best.

Will he do well in the Premier League? no idea, we'll find out.

Literally his last assist for us was a left footed cut across
Right? Clarke's best quality is his ability to run at defenders while keeping the ball close and then beating them inside OR to the line for a cross. It's everything else about his game this will be questioned at the PL level - defending, movement without the ball, ability to rotate infield, etc. I worry he'll get very isolated when Ipswich is having to defend a ton, and then when he does get the ball he won't link up with others well enough, but instead try to just carry the ball and beat everyone in front of him by himself. Would like to see Clarke do well, but my guess is ~ 5 goals, 3 assists for the season.

That’s a fair point about combinations with others. Something he doesn’t currently do
To the tactical level of the PL. He seems a hard worker so I think he’ll give it his best but that’s an area he might struggle. Who knows

I think he could have found a move to a half decent prem club like Brighton or Wolves. He'll be in a relegation battle for sure with the tractor boyz .
