Was he clear whether he was just talking about upfront not including add-ons or total?
He stated quite clearly we paid no where near £1 million for Wyke. Just accept what the owner and the man ITK says

Played league football at 16 and is in the squad regularly at 17. How many other players have we had in recent times to do that?Whats Mumba achieved?
Maja who you are happy to get rid of aye?
Not really, they decided to loan out Embleton to get regular game time. He has played a lot more football than Mumba like.
Not sure why you are trying to belittle him like, very strange.
maguire has been an adequate signing...what i expopected really...
getting a lot closer to league one teams first eleven than embelton..at ayounger age..oh anff the club rewraded that with a contract he already signed..he was a higher priority than embleton because he has achieved more..
maguire has been positive..though whether successful..well when you sign a player and he cant get in the team a few months later? depends on whether they thought he would be in the team now whether he has achieved what they have in mind..nbut overall has made a positive contribution..Do you think he's had a negative affect on us?
Get in! He’s already improved from fourth best to third best in the last few minutes (according to your good self).the owners have offered him acontract...the club arent trying to be self suffient this year or next year..what problem fdo you have? they have ofered him a contract...my point is, he just might not be that good, he is outr third best prospect and the height of his career is his work at grimsby..
duncan watmore has played at a better level for england and there are many here who would bi him..
was just talking about upfront..they wanted a million he negotaited down..
I do. That doesn’t mean we aren’t paying add-ons. I don’t know, I’m just suggesting it might be the case - they’re commonHe stated quite clearly we paid no where near £1 million for Wyke. Just accept what the owner and the man ITK says
im not belitting anyone...embleton has achieved league two standard..he should be offered a contract and has been..i dont know where he fits into the first team anytime soon but should be given a contract for the years ahead..mumba is a gfar better prospect who at ayounger age is contributing more to sunderland now..Probably because he needs to now to suit his argument. He's doing similar with Maguire now aswell.

its about measing potential...im saying embleton isnt among the three best prospects at the club..mumba is,...and mumbas contarct was sorted some time ago,..so embleton is our foruth best prospect..that should put into conytext the level of money he gets offered and attention we pay to him..So he's been good for us then. Case closed on that one.
What has Mumba got to do with offering Embleton a contract or not?
depends on whether you regard maja as simply a prospect or say he has gone past that stage,...which would be my view..he isnt just a prospect he has arrived..Get in! He’s already improved from fourth best to third best in the last few minutes (according to your good self).
Maybe by tea time he will be the best prospect. What do you think?
the maguire analogy is people over valued him earlier in the season..saying he should be in the scotland squad etc..now reality is hitting home..people are now over valuing embleton cos he had a good spell in the divisio n below us..short term thinking is almost always wrong..long term thinking helps unearth value..so I do the long term..embleton should be offered a contract commensurate with what he has achieved so far..and he has been..i dont know what the fuss is about? So he's been good for us then. Case closed on that one.

where is the bit where i said he should be binned? You've gone from rationalising him being binned because he can't get into the side over McGeady, to saying he should be paid what he is worth. I've not seen anyone say he shouldn't. And any decision on offering Embleton a contract or not should not be made and the basis of Mumba being offered one.
I give up on this thread.
any decision on offerinf him a contract is based on potential..not what he has achieved now..so how do we price potential? well we price it based on age, achievementy so far for example, mumba has arguably achieved more at ayounger age..You've gone from rationalising him being binned because he can't get into the side over McGeady, to saying he should be paid what he is worth. so if the club are offering him what he is worth why has a thread started criticisng the owners? You've gone from rationalising him being binned because he can't get into the side over McGeady, to saying he should be paid what he is worth. Paul Cook could not have been more emphatic on the Will Grigg speculation: “Are we looking to sell players? No. Why would we? Will Grigg is one of the mainstays of my success here. Will knows what I’m waiting for to get him back in the team...Powell, Jacobs, Massey.”
embleton has achieved a certain amount yes..but mumba has do e more for sunerland than embleton..I didn't mean it like that, I love Mumba
I think Embleton has achieved a lot too, that was my point, you know that, just decided to take something and twist it as usual
where is the bit where i said he should be binned?
